For centuries the Hawaiians, and many other cultures around the world have used ginger root to help relieve pain and discomfort from stomach issues. Goes on warm and comforting, and helps relax tense abdominal muscles and relieve cramping. A natural anti-spasmodic, it can also be used to relax any type of cramping, including sore muscles, stiff neck, even menstrual cramping. And Awapuhi Oil is also excellent for motion sickness, helping too relieve nausea, and calming that dizzy feeling.
The root is the strongest part of the ginger plant and that's why we use it for this infusion. The root of the ginger, also known as a rhizome, is washed, chopped ground and then air dried. Then it gets another grind and is mixed into our All-Hawaiian carrier oil in an exact ratio. After a thorough mixing it gets stored in glass containers, where it is allowed to age. During this process, the natural oils from the roots actually "infuse" and become a part of the carrier oil. Finally, after straining and filtering, it gets bottled for sale and use. It's time consuming and sometimes a lot of work, but the end result is an exceptionally high quality product.
Our Awapuhi Oil is safe and natural, and is one of the very few oils that is safe to use during pregnancy for morning sickness and even back pain. We used to sell this oil to our island visitors for motion sickness while driving our many twisty roads. Just a drop or two and even those in the back of the rental minivan can relax and enjoy the ride, with no nausea. Even helps with sea sickness!
